At the migrant transit accommodation site, the Deputy Commissioner inspected various under-construction and completed blocks. Officials informed him that the project comprises 39 accommodation blocks with a total of 936 flats. Of these, 26 blocks comprising 624 flats have already been completed.

He was further informed that six more blocks out of the remaining 13 are ready, while work on the final seven blocks is expected to be completed by April 2026.

The Deputy Commissioner was also apprised that the boundary wall and approach road for the project are nearing completion, while macadamisation work is scheduled to begin in the first week of April. Officials said the installation of electricity transformers has been completed and the power-related setup is expected to be in place within a week, while water supply facilities have already been made functional at the site.

During the inspection, Labroo directed the concerned departments and executing agencies to speed up internal finishing and allied works, and to ensure strict adherence to quality and safety norms. He was also informed that the installation of lifts has commenced in the accommodation blocks, and he instructed officials to complete the work in a time-bound manner.

He said the prestigious project is being monitored at a higher level and stressed the need for coordinated efforts among all departments to ensure its completion within the committed timeline.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited Panthachowk to inspect the construction of the new Tehsil Office complex being executed by the R&B Department. He was informed that around 80 percent of the work on the new office building has been completed.

The new complex will house the Tehsildar’s courtroom, Naib Tehsildar’s office, establishment section, record room and a waiting area for visitors.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner directed the executing agency to further accelerate the pace of work so that the project is completed by April 2026. He said the new facility would significantly improve delivery of revenue services to the public and provide a better working environment for the staff.

Labroo reiterated the importance of inter-departmental coordination to ensure that both projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe.
