Officials stated that a thorough investigation established that the property in question was illicitly acquired using proceeds generated from the sale and trafficking of narcotic and psychotropic substances. Habil Yaseen Dar is identified as a notorious drug peddler actively involved in narcotics trafficking across multiple districts of Jammu and Kashmir, contributing significantly to the drug menace among the youth.

According to police records, Dar has an extensive criminal history and is booked in nine criminal cases. This includes six cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at various police stations across the Union Territory, in addition to three other criminal cases.
