KPDCL announces scheduled power shutdowns in Bla, Sopore & Anantnag areas

Srinagar: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across parts of Baramulla and Anantnag districts in view of maintenance works on several 33 kV transmission lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, the shutdown of the 33 kV Delina–Sopore Tap line and 33 kV Baramulla-II line will affect power supply to Krankshivan Colony, Baba Raza, Amargarh, Wogub, Old Town, Tawheed Gunj, Drangbal, Jalsheeri, Sheeri, Heewan, Zogiyar and adjoining areas from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on March 3, 2026.

Similarly, the shutdown of the 33 kV Wanpoh SICOP line will impact electricity supply to Veer, Srigufwara, Zirpara, Shamsipora and the Bijbehara SICOP areas along with nearby localities from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on March 2 and March 7, 2026.

The corporation further said that the shutdown of the 33 kV Achabal–Cherpora Tap line will affect Shangus, Nowgam, Cherpora and adjoining areas from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on March 2, March 4 and March 7, 2026.

In addition, the shutdown of the 33 kV Harnag–Khanabal Tap line will affect the receiving station PSS 33/0.433 kV and the 1 MVA DC Residence from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on March 2 and March 5, 2026.

KPDCL has advised residents in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements and has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused, stating that the shutdowns are essential for maintenance and improvement of the power distribution network.
