The event was inaugurated by Prof. Sandhya Tiwari, Dean of International Affairs CUKashmir, who served as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Tiwari emphasized the championship’s significance: “This is a great opportunity for players to excel. We must provide more and more platforms for students aspiring to shine in winter sports.”

AIU observer Dr. Rina Poonia congratulated CUKashmir for successfully organizing this prestigious national event, highlighting the university’s commitment to promote winter sports in Jammu and Kashmir.

The championship features thrilling snow events across three disciplines: alpine skiing, snowboarding, and ski mountaineering. In alpine skiing, both men and women competitors will vie in slalom, giant slalom, and parallel slalom. Snowboarding events include slalom and giant slalom, while ski mountaineering showcases a sprint event. Athletes from universities nationwide will compete strictly as per All India University (AIU) rules, promising fierce rivalries and top-tier performances.
