Sessions included content creation and linguistic design using AI tools, practical classes on print media layout principles and QuarkXPress, and training in graphics and image editing.

During the first two days, the first batch underwent training on Artificial Intelligence (AI) fundamentals and advanced AI applications. Trainers covered fact-checking, digital verification tools, multilingual drafting and speechwriting using AI, and AI-enhanced multimedia public relations.

Lectures were also delivered on government communication in a digital media ecosystem, AI-powered crisis communication, project development using AI tools, and cyber safety and ethical use of artificial intelligence in government organisations.

Earlier, programme coordinator Dr Vinit Kumar Jha Utpal briefed participants about the course structure and guidelines, while Prof Anil Sumitra delivered the introductory lecture highlighting the role of DIPR personnel in the government communication system.

The training has been structured into three batches. The first batch covered AI applications, the second batch is focusing on print media practices, and the third batch will receive training on electronic media basics and advanced practices on February 27 and March 2.

Around 45 DIPR officers and officials are participating in the programme, which is intended to enhance professional competencies, adaptability and innovation in public communication in line with evolving governance and information needs.
