Man injured in leopard attack in Tangmarg, shifted to Srinagar

Tangmarg: A man was injured after being attacked by a leopard in Tangmarg area of Baramulla district on Monday afternoon, triggering panic among local residents.

The injured has been identified as Shabir Ahmed Kumar, son of late Ghulam Qadir Kumar. According to locals, the leopard attacked him inside the courtyard of his residence.

He was initially taken to Sub-District Hospital Tangmarg for treatment and later referred to a hospital in Srinagar for specialised care.

The incident has created fear among residents, who said the animal has been roaming freely in the locality. Locals have urged the Wildlife Department to take immediate measures to capture the leopard and ensure the safety of the people in the area.
