Ashwani Kumar assumes charge as Additional Chief Secy PDD

JAMMU: Ashwani Kumar today assumed the charge as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the Power Development Department at Civil Secretariat here today.

The ACS held an introductory meeting with senior officers to review the functioning, ongoing projects and key issues of the department.

Ashwani Kumar had a detailed discussion with the Chief Engineers and senior functionaries, focusing on strengthening power infrastructure, improving transmission and distribution efficiency, and ensuring reliable and quality power supply to consumers across Jammu and Kashmir.

“The power sector has a critical role in driving economic growth and public welfare,” asserted the ACS.

He underscored the need for enhanced coordination, timely execution of projects and adoption of modern technologies to improve operational efficiency. He stressed on the importance of minimising transmission and distribution losses, accelerating the implementation of ongoing power projects and ensuring prompt redressal of public issues.

Ashwani Kumar expressed confidence in the department’s capabilities, urging all stakeholders to work with dedication and collective responsibility to ensure efficient, reliable and consumer-friendly power services in J&K.
