The collaboration, undertaken under NHPC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, seeks to enhance sports infrastructure across the district.

Under the agreement, NHPC will undertake the upgradation of the Mini Stadium at Uri and install high-mast lights at the General Bipin Rawat Stadium in Baramulla town.

The projects will be funded by NHPC with a total financial outlay of ₹1 crore, of which ₹65 lakh has been earmarked for the financial year 2025–26.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated NHPC’s proactive role in supporting development of sports infrastructure and said such collaborative initiatives would help address gaps in facilities while encouraging youth participation in sports activities across the district.
