In his speech during the meeting, Ghulam Hassan Mir said that the ruling NC has completely failed to fulfil the promises it made to the people of J&K at the time of the Assembly elections. He said that the ruling party misled people with false promises and, after securing a huge mandate, completely forgot its poll promises.

Mir said that the Apni Party has the role of an opposition and will play it vigorously by highlighting pressing public issues and grievances. He urged his colleagues to remain in close contact with the masses so that they can understand public issues in various areas as well as at the broader level. He said that the Apni Party will raise these issues to compel the government to address them as soon as possible.

Ghulam Hassan Mir also appealed to the Central Government to take necessary steps to ensure that public trust and confidence are restored in Jammu and Kashmir. He reiterated Apni Party’s demand for the restoration of statehood to J&K, saying that it is of utmost importance and should be restored without any further delay. He also demanded the immediate holding of Panchayat and ULB polls in Jammu and Kashmir.

Besides Ghulam Hassan Mir, the prominent party leaders who were present in the meeting included Provincial President Jammu Manjit Singh, Chief Coordinator Abdul Mazeed Paddar, District President Kupwara Raja Manzoor, Provincial team, all Districts Presidents and District team from across the Jammu province.
