Rana reviews UT CAPEX works of Jal Shakti Department

JAMMU: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, today reviewed progress on UT CAPEX works of the Jal Shakti Department, with special focus on execution status of Water Supply Schemes (WSS) and Irrigation & Flood Control (I&FC) works targeted for 2025–26.

The Minister undertook a comprehensive review of projects being executed in the Jammu division, analysing the physical and financial progress, bottlenecks and timelines. He issued clear instructions for expediting execution and ensuring timely completion of all targeted works, emphasizing transparency, quality and adherence to set deadlines.

The Minister stressed that timely and transparent completion of WSS and I&FC works is crucial for improving service delivery, strengthening irrigation infrastructure and ensuring drinking water security across sub-regions.

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Jal Shakti Department, Shaleen Kabra; Chief Engineer, I&FC Jammu, Manoj Gupta; Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti Jammu, Hanief Choudhary; Director Planning, Imtiaz; and Director Finance, Lateef Poswal, besides other senior officers.
