Srinagar: The budget session of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly will begin on Monday with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s address to the House.

The LG will address the members of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly in the Assembly complex at 10:00 AM. This will be his third address to the House since the formation of the elected government in J&K.

The Legislative Assembly Secretariat has called for maintaining utmost decency and decorum during the LG’s address.

“The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor’s address is a most solemn and formal act and must be heard with attention and respect, while maintaining utmost dignity, decency, and decorum,” reads a bulletin issued by the Assembly Secretariat.

The discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the Lieutenant Governor’s Address will take place on February 3, 4, and 5. It will conclude on February 5 with the Chief Minister’s reply.

The budget of the J&K Union Territory for 2026-27 will be presented by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on February 6.

Subsequently, there will be a discussion on the budget, and demands for grants will be presented by different departments. (KNO)
