Addressing the gathering virtually, Minister Sakeena reiterated the government’s commitment to upgrading healthcare institutions with modern infrastructure and essential facilities. She emphasised that strengthening medical colleges and hospitals is a top priority of the Government to ensure quality healthcare services reach every section of society, especially in peripheral and underserved regions.

The Health Minister highlighted that the newly inaugurated firefighting system has been installed in compliance with modern safety standards to ensure enhanced fire preparedness and protection across hospital buildings, thereby safeguarding patients, staff, and critical medical infrastructure. She also said that the Water Supply Scheme commissioned for GMC Anantnag is designed to provide an uninterrupted and adequate water supply to hospital wards, operation theatres, laboratories, and residential quarters. The scheme will play a crucial role in maintaining hygiene, sanitation, and overall hospital functionality.

The Minister also said that the G+3 lift facilities, inaugurated simultaneously, will greatly improve vertical mobility within the hospital complex, aimed at ensuring smooth and hassle-free movement of patients, attendants, healthcare workers, and medical equipment, particularly benefiting elderly patients, persons with disabilities, and critical care services.

MLA Anantnag West, Abdul Majeed Larmi and MLA Anantnag East-Shangus, Reyaz Ahmad Khan, also spoke on the occasion.

The vital facilities established at an estimated overall cost of Rs. 640.78 Lakhs mark another milestone in the ongoing efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Government to transform healthcare delivery and create resilient, patient-centric medical institutions in J&K.
