Srinagar: Police in Sopore have apprehended two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police spokesperson informed that during checking, an auto rickshaw (JK01BA-8171) was stopped and poppy straw-like substance was recovered from the possession of its driver and another person travelling in it.
The accused were identified as Sabzaar Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Nabi Sheikh of Kathidarwaza Rainawari, at present Doglitang Sopore (driver), and Manzoor Ahmad Sofi alias Man Dab, son of Bashir Ahmad Sofi, resident of Neharpora Sopore.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore for further investigation, police said.
