Srinagar: Police in Sopore have arrested a person involved in a bakery shop theft case and recovered stolen cash from his possession.
A police spokesperson said that investigating a case of theft at a bakery shop at Shah Faisal Market, Sopore, police have arrested one Shakir Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Sadiq Bhat, resident of Sir Syed Colony, Sopore and recovered the stolen cash from him.
During further questioning, the accused also admitted that he had attempted to break locks of several shops in the main market Bus Stand Sopore and confessed to having consumed bakery items stolen from the bakery shop. Further investigation in the case is underway.
Police also arrested an accused involved in an ATM fraud case in the Magam area of Budgam district, spokesperson informed.
Acting on a complaint of one Ghulam Ahmad Bhat of Parraypora, Magam, who had lost his ATM card to a fraudster, police during investigations arrested one Abdul Nayeem Khan, son of Jalal-ud-Din Khan, resident of Drangbal, Baramulla. Further investigation is underway.
