Srinagar: ACB has arrested a Patwari, Halqa Rakh Soothu, Budgam for demanding and accepting a bribe amount of ₹10,000, the anti-graft body said in a statement here.
It said acting on a complainant that Patwari of Halqa Rakh Soothu — Riyaz Ahmad Khan — was demanding bribe of ₹10,000 for issuance of Revenue extract and bank lien certificate for a property in his jurisdiction, ACB registered a case and set up a trap, which arrested the accused Patwri red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe amount of ₹10,000 from the complainant.
After completing all necessary medico-legal formalities, the accused Patwari was taken into custody. Further investigation is going on, ACB said.
