KPDCL announces scheduled power shutdown in parts of Srinagar

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in several areas of Srinagar and south Kashmir due to maintenance works.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the 33 KV Wanpoh–Ashajipora and Wanpoh–Malaknag double circuit lines will remain shut on January 8 and 10, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. As a result, power supply to Ashajipora, Dialgam, Malaknag, Hazratbal, Brakpora, Doonipawa, and adjoining areas will remain affected during the shutdown period.

Meanwhile, shutdowns of the 33 KV Bemina–Fateh Kadal line and the 33 KV Bemina–Barbarshah line will be observed on January 8, 12, and 15, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. During this period, electricity supply to Mohalla, Nowpora, Bohrikadal, BB Shah, Bishembarnagar, Gousia Hospital, Naisarak, Barbarshah, Exchange, Basant Bagh, Car Parking Maisuma, and adjoining areas will be disrupted.

KPDCL has urged consumers to bear with the inconvenience and cooperate during the maintenance works, which are aimed at improving the reliability of the power supply.
