Srinagar/Jammu: On the occasion of New Year 2026, A.G. Mir (IPS), Commandant General, Home Guards/Civil Defence and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Jammu and Kashmir, extended warm and heartfelt greetings to officers and officials, Home Guards and Civil Defence volunteers of the organisation, as well as to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
In his New Year message, the Commandant General conveyed his sincere appreciation for the unwavering dedication, professionalism and selfless service displayed by all ranks in safeguarding public safety, responding effectively to disasters and serving the community during challenging times. He said the commitment shown by the force has been instrumental in strengthening public confidence and ensuring timely response in emergencies across the Union Territory.
Expressing confidence in the force’s capabilities, Shri Mir said that the Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF would continue to uphold their proud traditions of discipline, resilience and commitment in the year ahead. He called upon all personnel to renew their pledge to duty with greater zeal, integrity and teamwork, and to remain ever prepared to meet future challenges with courage and compassion.
The Commandant General also wished that New Year 2026 brings peace, prosperity, good health and happiness to every household across Jammu and Kashmir.
