Highlighting Jammu and Kashmir’s age-old tradition of unity in diversity, the Minister said that the region has always been a shining example of peaceful coexistence among different faiths and cultures. He called upon all sections of society to work together to further strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, tolerance and mutual respect in order to build a harmonious and progressive Jammu and Kashmir.

“True development is possible only when communities live in peace and solidarity. Festivals like Christmas remind us that humanity, compassion and empathy must guide our collective journey,” Satish Sharma remarked.

Recalling the visionary and transformative role of Jesus Christ, the Minister said that His teachings of love, forgiveness and selfless service have left an indelible mark on human civilisation and continue to inspire people across the world. He urged the citizens, particularly the youth, to follow these ideals and contribute positively to society.

The Minister also interacted with the members of the Christian community and local residents, appreciating their contribution in nurturing a spirit of harmony and social responsibility. He assured them of the government’s continued commitment towards safeguarding the rights, dignity and cultural heritage of every community.

The celebrations at the churches were marked by special prayers, hymns and messages of goodwill, creating an atmosphere of joy, unity and spiritual reflection.
