MLA Gulmarg launches major road, health and education projects

Tangmarg: MLA Gulmarg, Farooq Ahmad Shah, today dedicated several important developmental initiatives to the people of the constituency, marking another step forward in strengthening basic infrastructure and public services.

He laid the foundation stone of the Shrai–Tumberhama Bypass Road via Reram, a key infrastructure project estimated at ₹2.64 crore. The bypass road is expected to ease traffic congestion, improve road safety, and significantly enhance connectivity for residents and commuters, while also supporting the region’s overall development.

At Hariwatnoo, the MLA inaugurated a newly installed X-Ray machine at Primary Health Centre Hariwatnoo, aimed at improving diagnostic facilities and reducing the need for patients to travel to distant hospitals. He also inaugurated a Kindergarten at Hariwatnoo, reinforcing the government’s focus on strengthening education at the grassroots level.

Later, MLA Gulmarg attended a programme at Government Higher Secondary School Kunzer, where the official website of the institution was formally launched. During the event, sports kits were distributed to 72 Schools of Kunzer Zone under the Road to School CSR Initiative of Ashok Leyland Ltd, implemented by Learning Links Foundation in collaboration with the School Education Department, Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA Farooq Ahmad Shah reiterated his commitment to people-oriented development, stating that sustained efforts are being made to improve infrastructure, healthcare, and education to ensure better quality of life for the public. The initiatives were widely appreciated by local residents and public representatives present on the occasion.
