Highlighting the Government’s focus on renewable energy, the Minister said that under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, a total of 16,212 rooftop solar systems have been installed in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir as on 11 December 2025. The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with JKSPDC for the development of a 10 MW Solar Photovoltaic project in the UT, which is scheduled to be completed within 12 months of award of work, the minister added.
