Satish Sharma inspects govt infrastructure, public services in Chamb constituency

JAMMU: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Transport, Information Technology, Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, today visited various areas of Chamb constituency and adjoining areas to inspect the government infrastructure and review public services in the region.

The areas visited inter alia included Chowki Choura, Sunderbani, Neeli Nallah, Mallah Barote, Nathal, Dori, Degar and peripheral areas.

The Minister inspected the school buildings, government offices and public services. He reviewed the status of educational facilities, staff availability, sanitation and basic amenities in these government entities.

While interacting with the locals, the Minister said that the  major focus of the government is  addressing deplorable road conditions, scarcity of safe drinking water and public grievances related to other civic facilities.

The Minister had a detailed feedback from the local residents regarding their development issues and needs as well. He assured immediate departmental action and assistance in resolving the critical public issues.

Satish Sharma reviewed the commissioning of solar power plants in the region, emphasising the government’s push towards clean energy, sustainable infrastructure and reliable electricity supply for remote and rural habitations.

The Minister directed the accompanying officers to compile action-oriented reports, expedite ongoing works and ensure that development projects in these areas proceed without delay. He reiterated that equitable development, improved connectivity, enhanced service delivery and preservation of cultural heritage remain high priorities for the present government.

The Minister also directed for undertaking urgent works under CDF like providing of ambulances,  construction of community halls, cremation sheds and water tanks, installation of water pipes and transformers across the constituency.

He instructed the accompanying officers and officials to provide on-spot response to the public issues and take immediate action, wherever required.

Later, the Minister also distributed daily essential items among the poor and needy families.

Meanwhile, the Minister had an   exhaustive inspection of several Devsathan sites in these areas.  These included  Ladyaal Biradri Devsathan, Neeli Nallah, Baba Maimal ji Devsathan, Mallah Top (Mallah Barote) Baba Maimal ji Devsathan, Nathal, Baba Maimal ji Devsathan, Dager Rakhmalal Baba Bhadwag Singh ji Devsathan and Rakh Malal Devsathan.
