DC Sgr approves various measures for welfare of Ex-Servicemen families

SRINAGAR: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, who is also the President Zila Sainik Board, today chaired the Annual General Body Meeting of Zila Sainik Welfare Board here at the Conference Hall of DC Office Complex.

The meeting was attended by General Manager DIC, Superintendent of Police, District Social Welfare Officer, Deputy Director Employment, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Executive Engineer PWD/R&B Division Rajbagh, District Postmaster, Deputy CEO, District Health Officer, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Colonel Veteran’s DPDO, Defence Veteran’s and representative of Member Parliament Srinagar Constituency.

While Nodal Officers from Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Budgam, and Ganderbal districts participated in the meeting virtually.

At the outset, the DC reviewed the overall functioning of the Zila Sainik Welfare Board and the status of welfare initiatives. He was given a detailed presentation, outlining the functioning of the Board, which has jurisdiction over seven districts of Kashmir Division. A comprehensive discussion was also held on agenda points related to welfare of Ex-Servicemen families.

The DC reaffirmed that the District Administration remains committed to extending all possible support to the Zila Sainik Welfare Board with the aim of further strengthening its functioning and upgrading infrastructure.

On the occasion, the DC approved several measures meant for the welfare of Ex-Servicemen, War Widows and their Next of Kin (NoKs) which included both infrastructural projects and implementation of existing schemes. He assured the Board members that all issues concerning veterans will be addressed on priority in coordination with all line departments.

Emphasizing the need for synergy, the DC called for better coordination between all line departments and the Zila Sainik Welfare Board to ensure effective functioning and enhanced welfare services for veterans.
