Baramulla: The Baramulla administration has alerted the general public about a fake WhatsApp account impersonating Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa.
The WhatsApp number associated with the fake account is 84929878962, and it carries the Deputy Commissioner’s photograph, officials said.
In a statement, the District Information Officer (DIO) Baramulla said, “This fake account is being used to contact people and solicit money or other favours. The general public is hereby warned not to respond to any such messages.”
The DIO urged citizens to remain vigilant and not fall prey to such impersonation attempts.
“Any such suspicious activity should be reported to this office at 9797777834,” the DIO stated.
