Jammu: Jammu Police on Thursday said it detained a 19-year-old youth as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected online radicalisation.
Police said the boy, originally from Reasi district and currently living in the Bathindi area, has been identified as the key suspect in FIR No. 331/2025 registered under Section 113(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Police Station Bahu Fort.
“Initial findings point to the accused being influenced through online platforms and allegedly preparing to execute a terror-related act,” the police said.
Investigators have found that he was in contact over mobile phone with multiple numbers traced to Pakistan and other foreign locations.
The statement added that several digital devices were recovered from the accused and have been taken up for detailed forensic examination.
Police said that questioning of the suspect is continuing and further investigation is in progress. (KNS)
