DC Sgr inaugurates volleyball court, cricket practice net at Palaash, Pareesha Children Homes

SRINAGAR: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, on Tuesday visited “Palaash” and “Pareesha” (the Children Homes for Boys and Girls) at Nishat.

On the occasion, the DC inaugurated a Cricket Practice Net at Palaash and a Volleyball Court at Pareesha. He also distributed boxing kits, sports shoes, cricket bats, cricket gear, volleyball sets and other sports equipment to the children to encourage their active participation in sports activities.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Chief Planning Officer Fayaz Ahmad Dar, SDM East Zubair Ahmad, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tahir Sajad, District Social Welfare Officer Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, District Youth Services & Sports Officer Ghulam Hassan, Deputy CEO, and other senior officials.

The DC interacted with the inmates and staff, assuring them of continued support from the District Administration for the overall growth and development of the children.

He commended the concerned officers for promptly addressing and fulfilling the demands raised by the children in a short span of time.

The DC was informed that a special health screening and medical check-up camp had recently been conducted for all children at both facilities to ensure their well-being.

Meanwhile, the DC urged the staff of Palaash and Pareesha to work with renewed zeal and dedication to provide improved services and care for the children residing in the centres.
