Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said they have recovered a “substantial” quantity of contraband substance from a residential house in Bonagund Verinag and arrested the accused person involved in it.
Acting on “credible information” about one Mukhtar Ahmad Haji, son of Ghulam Rasool Haji of Bonagund Verinag, having concealed cannabis-like substance in a tin-shed near his residence, police said, and recovered a nylon bag containing cannabis leaves with seeds and top-like material – in a half-dried and half-crushed form — weighing about 5 kg 180 grams, a police spokesperson informed.
He said house owner Mukhtar Ahmad Haji was arrested.
