JAMMU: The Information Technology department today organised a special commemorative event to celebrate 150 years of the iconic national song, Vande Mataram.
The programme was held under the supervision of the Commissioner Secretary, IT, Dr. Piyush Singla.
The celebration witnessed participation from senior officers of the IT Department, including Director Finance (IT), Iftikhar Hussain; Special Secretary (ITD), Shokat Mahmood; Additional Secretary (ITD), Devender Singh Bhau; Deputy Director Planning, Chaman Lal, along with officers and officials from various wings of the department.
Teams from IT Cell, SeMT (State e-Mission Team) J&K, and JaKeGA (J&K e-Governance Agency) also attended the programme, further enriching the spirit of collaboration.
Addressing the gathering, CEO, JaKeGA, Mahima Madan delivered an inspiring speech reflecting on the song’s cultural legacy and its importance in strengthening collective national spirit.
During the event, all participants sang the song Vande Mataram with great enthusiasm, reflecting unity, patriotic fervour, and collective respect for the nation’s cultural heritage. The event highlighted the historical significance of Vande Mataram and its enduring role in fostering unity, patriotism, and national identity.
The Department reiterated its commitment to promoting national values while continuing to advance digital transformation and citizen-centric governance across Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
