Srinagar: In a significant step towards fostering educational and social development in the border areas of Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army has launched an initiative to upgrade the infrastructure of the Government Middle High School, Chotali, in Baramulla District, along the Line of Control (LoC).

Recognising education as the cornerstone of youth empowerment, the Indian Army has undertaken to provide essential furniture and infrastructure improvements to the school, bringing its facilities on par with those of reputed institutions in urban areas.

As part of the project, classrooms will be transformed into smart classrooms equipped with modern amenities and digital learning tools. The initiative aims to create a conducive learning environment that encourages innovation, curiosity, and technological adaptation among students — even in some of the remotest parts of the country.

The educational upliftment drive extends beyond Chotali. Similar developmental support will soon be provided to Government School, Gagar Hill, and Government Primary School, Somwali. Through these efforts, the Army seeks to empower the youth of border villages with quality education and better learning resources, paving the way for a brighter and more self-reliant future.

Teachers at Government Middle High School, Chotali, have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a major step forward for education in remote border areas. Students expressed excitement and gratitude, pledging to make the most of the improved facilities and new learning opportunities.

This initiative underscores the Indian Army’s enduring commitment to the welfare and holistic development of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. By strengthening educational infrastructure, the Army continues to promote harmony, progress, and civil-military cooperation in the region.
