Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Awantipora and Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police spokesperson informed that one Mukhtar Ahmad Rather of Nambalnar Babareshi, was arrested at a checkpoint at Y Point Babareshi crossing after 21 grams of a heroin-like substance and a digital weighing machine were recovered from his possession.
At Kachkoot Awantipora, Farooq Ahmad Zaroo, of Sether and Ifahaz Ul Mushtaq of Pujteng were arrested after heroin-like substance weighing 5.42 grams, cannabis powder-like substance weighing 553 grams and cannabis stick weighing 26.43 grams were recovered from their possession.
Cases have been registered in concerned police stations for further investigations, police said.
