Srinagar: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered the promotion of three Jammu and Kashmir Police Service (JKPS) officers to the grade of Superintendent of Police (Selection Grade-II) in Level 12 of the Pay Matrix (₹78,800–₹2,09,200).
As per Government Order No. 525-Home of 2025, dated November 1, 2025, the promotions were approved following recommendations of the Selection Committee-I, held on July 3, 2025, and subsequent communications from the Crime Investigation Department (CID).
Those promoted include Mohammad Yousuf (JKPS:2001), whose promotion has been granted notionally with effect from December 24, 2024, and regularly with immediate effect. Pardeep Singh (JKPS:2008) and Brijesh Kumar Sharma (JKPS:2008) have been promoted with immediate effect.
The Home Department clarified that the promotions are subject to the outcome of any writ petitions pending before competent courts. (KNT)
