During the solemn ceremony, the civil servants pledged to dedicate themselves to preserving the unity, integrity, and security of the nation and to spreading this message among fellow citizens.

They also resolved to contribute actively towards ensuring internal security and strengthening the spirit of national unity in their respective spheres of work.

Pertinently, National Unity Day is observed every year to commemorate the immense contribution of India’s first Home Minister, Sardar  Vallabhbhai Patel, in the unification of the nation.

The day celebrates Patel’s monumental efforts in integrating more than 560 princely states into the Indian Union after independence, thereby laying the foundation of a united and strong India.

This year’s observance also marks the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, whose vision, leadership, and steadfast commitment continue to inspire the nation to uphold peace, integrity, and unity.
