Handwara: National Conference (NC) vice president and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that the termination of government employees should be carried out only through proper judicial process.

“The termination process should be done through the court. Everyone deserves a chance to present their clarification. If someone is found guilty, action should be taken, but innocent employees should not be punished,” he said as per KNS.

Omar made the remarks while speaking to reporters in Handwara, where he met party workers and congratulated senior NC leader Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan on his election to the Rajya Sabha.

“I have come here to congratulate the people of Handwara, the people of north Kashmir, and especially my senior colleague Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, who was successful in the recent Rajya Sabha elections,” Omar said.

He expressed confidence that the newly elected members would represent Jammu and Kashmir effectively in Parliament. “We have sent three excellent representatives to the Rajya Sabha. I am hopeful that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will now have their voice heard in the highest forum of the country, where it has been missing since 2022,” he said.

Responding to the Leader of Opposition’s allegation that his announcement of a Law University in Budgam during the bypolls violated the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), Omar said, “Let the Leader of Opposition take action against me if he believes there was a violation.”(KNS).
