Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President (Kashmir) Showkat Ahmad Mir has urged all party wings to launch a vigorous campaign in the Budgam by-elections, rallying full support to ensure a decisive victory for the NC candidate, Aga Syed Mehmood.

While interacting with party office bearers and functionaries, Mir urged them to intensify the public outreach campaign in support of the party’s candidate Aga Syed Mehmood. He emphasized the importance of effectively informing the public about the welfare initiatives undertaken by the Omar Abdullah-led government, including the enhancement of legislators’ Constituency Development Fund (CDF), the introduction of a participatory budget, the revival of tourism post-Pahalgam incident, the swift response to weather-related challenges, and the overall surge in developmental activities across various districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Mir cautioned that certain forces are attempting to undermine the region’s socio-political fabric, adding that the BJP and its proxies are resurfacing under new names and disguises to mislead the people. He stressed that it is the responsibility of the party’s youth, women, and minority wings to mobilise their resources, reach out to the public, and expose these divisive designs.

He also directed party functionaries and office bearers to remain in constant touch with the Budgam district unit and to ensure close coordination and organizational preparedness in the lead-up to the upcoming elections.

Among others, Provincial Secretary Syed Tawqeer Ahmad, Women’s Wing President Er. Sabiya Qadri, and Minority Wing Convenor J.S. Azad also addressed the gathering and reiterated their commitment to strengthening the party’s grassroots presence.
