Jammu: Security forces detected and safely defused an old mortar shell found in Kathua district, officials said.
The shell was discovered in farm land in Karol Mathura border village in the Hiranagar sector on Sunday evening following information provided by local residents, they said.
A bomb disposal squad was called to the spot, and the mortar shell was defused safely, the officials added.
