KPDCL announces multiple power shutdowns across Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across several districts of Kashmir this month to facilitate branch cutting, routine maintenance, and installation works on various 33 KV and 132 KV lines.

The planned outages, according to the Chief Engineer (Distribution), are essential to ensure the reliability and safety of the power supply network.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, in order to carry out branch cutting of trees coming under 33 KV lines, shutdown of the 33 KV Arampora line shall be observed, due to which Arampora, Shair Colony, Panzipora, and Bugoo receiving stations shall remain off. Power supply to Panzipora, Tarzoo, Hygam, Shair Colony, Arampora, Mahrajpora, Bugoo, Police Station, ADC, and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on October 11, 2025.

Similarly, shutdown of the 33 KV Bandipora line shall be observed, affecting Watlab, Duroo, and Tujjar Sharief receiving stations. Power supply to Watlab, Hathlangoo, Warpora, Dooru, Shiva, Tujjar Sharief, Shrian, and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on October 20 and 25, 2025.

Moreover, shutdown of the 33 KV Nowpora line shall be observed, affecting Nowpora, Achabal, Bomai, and Seelu receiving stations. Power supply to Nowpora, Mazbugh, Reban, Achabal, Doabgah, Ferozpora, and adjoining areas will remain affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on October 13 and 18, 2025.

Likewise, shutdown of the 33 KV Sopore line shall be observed, affecting Sopore-1st and Sopore-2nd receiving stations. Power supply to Essential, Court Road, Khanday, Samad, Model Town, Kapra, Noorbagh, Hospital, and adjoining areas will remain affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on October 22 and 28, 2025.

Similarly, shutdown of the 33 KV Pattan line shall be observed, affecting Palhalan and Hamray receiving stations. Power supply to Palhalan, Wanigam, Hamray, Lolipora, and adjoining areas will remain affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on October 21 and 25, 2025.

Likewise, shutdown of the 33 KV Wagoora line shall be observed, affecting Sangrama, Wagoora, Kreeri, and Ichloo receiving stations. Power supply to Nowpora, Sangrama, Boosu, Wagoora, Watergam, Kreeri, Ichloo, Saloosa, and adjoining areas will remain affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on October 15, 18, and 22, 2025

Furthermore, shutdown of the 33 KV HMT line shall be observed, affecting Singhpora, Nehalpora, Mirgund, and Shadipora receiving stations. Power supply to Singhpora, Duslipora, Kalsari, Rambilgarh, Mirgund, Shadipora, and adjoining areas will remain affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on October 16, 20, and 23, 2025.

Meanwhile, as per a separate schedule issued by the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, to carry out various annual maintenance activities at 132 KV transmission lines and 132/33 KV grid substations, shutdown of the 132 KV Zainakote–Wanganpora Transmission Line (Circuit-I) shall be observed from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on October 13 and 14, and from 09:30 AM to 12:00 Noon on October 15, 2025. Similarly, shutdown of the 132 KV Zainakote–Wanganpora Transmission Line (Circuit-II) shall be observed on October 15 from 12:00 Noon to 03:30 PM, on October 16 from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM, and on October 17 from 09:30 AM to 12:00 Noon. Power supply to Kawdara, Khanyar, Safakadal, S.H. Pora, Soura, Takanwari, and adjoining areas will be affected on these days.

Shutdown of the 200 MVA, 132/33 KV Grid Substation Wanganpora and 100 MVA, 132/33 KV GIS Khanyar shall also be observed, affecting power supply to Kawdara, Khanyar, Safakadal, S.H. Pora, Soura, Takanwari, BAM Khan, Kathi Darwaza, and adjoining areas from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM on October 23, 2025.

Similarly, shutdown of the 70 MVA, 132/33 KV Grid Substation Kangan shall be observed, due to which power supply to Kangan, Surfraw, Wussan, Gangangeer, and the Z-morh Tunnel will remain affected from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM on October 27, 2025.

Additional shutdowns have also been scheduled for the 33 KV Watergam, SIDCO, Uri, Boniyar, Malpora, Magam, Wangipora–Batwina, Lar–Tulmulla, Alasteng–Nagbal, Alasteng Power House, Kangan–Surfraw, and Kangan–Wussan lines on various dates between October 11 and October 27, 2025, affecting corresponding receiving stations and adjoining areas.

The KPDCL has advised residents of the affected areas to remain informed and take necessary precautions during the scheduled maintenance periods.
