Anantnag: Renowned poet, a prolific writer, a critic, actor, broadcaster and journalist, Zahid Mukhtar passed away,Thursday morning, at his residence in Anantnag.

Known for his numerous works in the field of literature and journalism, he was especially hailed for his contributions to Urdu and Kashmiri languages as he authored several books that earned him praise and a high stature among the literary circles here.
