KPDCL issues detailed power shutdown schedule for maintenance works across Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced an extensive power shutdown schedule across various areas of the Kashmir Valley to facilitate branch cutting, looping of lines, and preventive maintenance of 33 KV and 132 KV transmission lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the scheduled shutdowns are essential to ensure safety and uninterrupted power supply during the winter months. The shutdowns will be observed between October 9 and October 26, 2025, and will affect different receiving stations and areas on specific dates.

As per the schedule:

October 9: Shutdown of the 33 KV Dab Tapline (Kurhama–Dab Feeder) will affect Dab, Rabitar, Batpora, and adjoining areas from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM.

October 9 & 11: Shutdown of the 132 KV Habak–Alusteng Transmission Line will impact Zakura, Batapora, Ellahibagh, Habbak, Burzhama, Hazratbal, and Kurhama from 09:30 AM to 04:00 PM.

October 11 & 13: Shutdown of the 132 KV Kangan–Badampora Transmission Line will affect Batwina, Nowgam, Wangipora, Panzigam, Ajar, Kanzalwan, Gurez, Nusso, Nadihal, Aloosa, Tujjer, Watlab, and adjoining areas from 09:30 AM to 04:00 PM.

Similarly, shutdowns of the 33 KV Ahmadpora–Beerwah line and 33 KV Ahmadpora–Magam line will impact Beerwah, Sonpah, Khag, Arizal, Magam, Aripanthan, and adjoining areas.

October 11 & 23: Shutdown of the 33 KV Kanir Tapline and Brenwar Tapline will affect Zoohama, Kanir, Hushroo, Hanjoora, Dadompora, Drenwar, Surasyar, Raithan, and adjoining areas.

October 13: 33 KV Panzan Tapline shutdown will affect Gadsathoo, Panzan, and Kathairgound areas, while Hafroo Tapline shutdown will impact Loolipora, Buzgoo, and Hafroo.

October 14: Multiple lines including Shariefabad–HMT, Watrehail Tapline, and Ichgam line will be shut down, impacting Narbal, Mazhama, Sozeith, Sanoor, Watrehail, Ichgam, Choon, Kanir, Hanjoora, and adjoining areas from 09:30 AM to 04:00 PM.

October 14 & 16: Kremshore Tapline shutdown will affect Kremshore, Khansahib, and Brenwar receiving stations including Arigam, Nunner, Dregam, Surasyar, and nearby areas.

October 15: 33 KV SH Pora & Kawdara line, Safakadal line, and Charisharief Tapline shutdowns will impact areas such as MR Gunj, Zadibal, Eidgah, Charisharief, Yousmarg, Nagam, Hafroo, and adjoining localities.

October 15 & 20: Tangmarg–Gulmarg line shutdown will affect Gulmarg, Cable Car, Khyber Resort, and Babareshi Shrine.

October 16: 33 KV Shariefabad–HMT and Kongamdara lines will be shut down, affecting Zainakote, HMT, Mujgund, Kunzer, Dhobiwan, Hard Aboora, and adjoining areas.

October 18: 33 KV Bemina-I & II line shutdown will affect Bemina, Qamarwari, Chattabal, SK Colony, and surrounding areas.

Similarly, 33 KV Khansahib Tapline shutdown will impact Khansahib, Brenwar, Raithan, Surasyar, and nearby areas.

October 19: 33 KV Bemina–JVC line and Bemina–Karan Nagar line will be shut down, affecting SKIMS, JVC, PC Depot, Children’s Hospital, Civil Secretariat, SMHS Hospital, Guru Bazar, and adjoining areas from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM.

October 20: Shutdown of 33 KV Shariefabad–Narbal, 33 KV HMT line, 33 KV Pampore BK Pora line, and Tangmarg–Gulmarg line will affect Narbal, Lawaypora, Kawoosa, HMT, Bakshipora, BK Pora, Khanda, Wagoora, Gulmarg, and adjoining localities.

October 21: 33 KV Shariefabad–Wadwan line and Nowbugh–Chadoora line shutdowns will impact Shariefabad, Soibugh, Chadoora, Panzan, and adjoining areas.

October 22: 33 KV Pampore–Wagoora line and Shariefabad–Narbal line shutdowns will affect Kadlebal, Gas Plant, Narbal, Sozeith, and adjoining areas.

October 23: 33 KV Shariefabad–Wadwan and Kanir Tapline shutdowns will impact Wadwan, Soibugh, Kanir, Hanjoora, Raithan, and adjacent areas.

October 25: 33 KV Budgam SIDCO Tapline shutdown will affect Railway Station Budgam, Ompora, and SIDCO Housing Colony.

October 26: Combined shutdown of 33 KV Bemina Barbar Shah, Bemina Fatehkadal, Bemina KP Bagh, Bemina Exhibition, Bemina JVC, Bemina I & II, and Bemina Karan Nagar lines will affect large parts of Srinagar including Fateh Kadal, Khayam, Barbar Shah, Court Complex, GIS Batamaloo, JVC, PC Depot, Children Hospital, Bemina, and Karan Nagar areas from 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM.

The Chief Engineer stated that these shutdowns are part of a planned preventive maintenance drive aimed at ensuring system stability, load management, and reducing breakdowns during the high-demand winter period.

Consumers have been requested to cooperate during the scheduled outages and are assured that power supply will be restored immediately after the completion of maintenance works.
