Dy CM attends NPC bodybuilding and physique competition

SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, today attended a one-day Body Building and Physique competition organised by the National Physique Committee at Tagore Hall here.

The event was organised in the 55 kg to 95 kg weight category, in which Salim was declared the overall champion, whereas Riyan won in the classic physique category. Zaid Abdullah was adjudged the winner in the men’s physique competition.

While speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said that he felt delighted to see the strength of motivated participants in the NPC Body Building and Physique Competition. He added that the energy and dedication of participants reflect the positive direction our youth can take.

The Deputy CM further maintained that the Government is channelling the energy of youth in the right direction to curb the menace of drug abuse among them.

The Deputy CM extended best wishes to participants for future competition and said that the government is committed to working in promoting the sport and nurturing new talent in J&K by providing them top-notch infrastructure, facilities and mentorship so that they can be prepared for national/international events.

The Deputy Chief Minister also distributed medals, trophies and certificates to the top performers of the competition.
