Budgam: An eight-year-old boy was killed in an accident involving a tractor in Watalpora village of Beerwah in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Fida Hussain Dar, son of Mohammad Rafiq Dar. Officials said the incident occurred when the child accidentally came under a moving tractor and sustained critical injuries. He died on the spot.
Police said that a team rushed to the location soon after receiving the report. The boy was shifted to a nearby health facility, where doctors declared him brought dead. “Legal proceedings have been initiated and further investigation is underway,” KNT quoted a police officer as saying.
The body was later handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities.
