Power shutdowns across Kashmir in late September–October

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across multiple districts to facilitate tree-cutting and line maintenance along 33 KV corridors. Affected areas include Baramulla, Sopore, Handwara, Boniyar, Uri, Watergam, Kangan, and surrounding localities, with outages planned between September 28 and October 14, 2025.

Power supply will generally be disrupted between 09:30 AM and 03:30 PM, depending on the line and location.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, in order to facilitate branch cutting of trees coming in the corridor of 33 KV lines, shutdown of 33KV Sheeri-Baramulla-1st line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Baramulla-1st, Kanlibagh, GMC shall remain off while power supply to New DIC, DIC, Short Delina, Main Bazar, Noorbagh, Ushkara, PHE and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on 30 September & 04 October, 2025.

Also in this connection, shutdown of 33KV Sheeri-Baramulla-2nd line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Baramulla-2nd, Bagh-i-Islam, Drangbal, Sheeri shall remain off while power supply to Old Town, Azad Gunj, Janbazpora, Jalsheeri, Towheed Gunj, Irrigation, PHE, Zogiyar, Fathgarh, STC and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on 04 & 07 October, 2025.

Similarly, shutdown of 33KV KV LJHP Gantamulla- Uri line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Salamabad Bandi, Mohura, Noorkhah shall remain off while power supply to Salamabad, NHPC, MES, TFC, Gharkote, Balkote, Bandi, Uri, Mohara, Rampur, Bijhama, Dhani and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on 06, 11 & 14 October, 2025.

Likewise, shutdown of 33KV LJHP Gantamulla- Boniyar line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Boniyar, Nowshera shall remain off while power supply to Boniyar, Trikanjan, Limber, Nowshera, JNV and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on 02 & 08 October, 2025.

Besides, shutdown of 33KV Amargarh Watergam line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Watergam, Hachipora, Hadipora shall remain off while power supply to Watergam, Hachipora, Palpora, Beharampora, Dangiwacha and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on 28 September, 2025.

Further, shutdown of 33KV Amargarh SIDCO line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Rohama, Chakloo, MID Irrigation, Seer shall remain off while power supply to Handwara Town, Kultora, Maratgam, Kandi, Chogul, Kulangam, Sagipora and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on 02 & 11 October, 2025.

Additionally, shutdown of 33KV Sheeri Malpora line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Chandoosa, Malpora, Gantamulla, Sultanpora shall remain off while power supply to Chandoosa, Malpora, Sultanpora, Kitchama,Heewan, Namblan and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on 02, 05 & 09 October, 2025.

Moreover, shutdown of 33KV Delina-Delina line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Delina, Sopore-II, Jetty shall remain off while power supply to Delina, Kanispora, Singhpora, BSF, Jetty, Kralhar, TC PHE, Sopore-II and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on 04 & 09 October, 2025.

Furthermore, shutdown of 33KV Arampora- Handwara Old line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Zachaldara, Adoora, Changmulla shall remain off while power supply to Zachaldara, Wadipora, Changmulla, Hari, Hanga, Lach and adjoining areas will be affected from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on 29 September & 02 October, 2025.

Meanwhile, for connecting the Tapping point of the under-construction 33 KV Wangath Tap line to the 33 KV Kangan line, shutdown of the 33KV Kangan Surfraw line shall be observed, due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Surfraw, Gagangeer shall remain off while power supply to Gund, Kullan, Gagangeer, Sonamarg, Surfraw, Ganiwan and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM on 29 September, 2025.

Also in this connection, shutdown of 33KV Kangan Kangan line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at PDC Kangan, Kangan shall remain off while power supply to Mammer, Wangath, Kangan, Akhal, Baba Nagri, Poshkar, Khanan, Panzin Wangath areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM on 29 September, 2025.

As per a separate shutdown schedule issued by the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, in order to facilitate the works of augmentation of 33 KV Budgam Parthan line, shutdown of 33KV Budgam Watrehail Tap line shall be observed, due to which 33/11KV Receiving Station at Watrehail shall remain off while power supply to Watrehail, Samsaan, Parthan, Watrehail PHE Substation and adjoining areas will be affected from 08:00 AM to 02:00 PM on 30 September& 04 October, 2025.
