BANDIPORA: As part of the ongoing Aadi Karamyogi Abhiyan under Seva Prav 2025, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, along with a team of officers from various departments, visited the remote tribal village of Chandaji on Saturday and attended a public darbar with the local community.

During the program, Block Level Master Trainers (BLMTs) presented a detailed status report of the village covering education, health, agriculture, dairy and sheep farming. They informed that door-to-door surveys were conducted and awareness was generated among households and youth about different welfare schemes aimed at improving socio-economic conditions.

Students of Government Middle School Chandaji actively participated in the event by delivering speeches on the Aadi Karamyogi Abhiyan, describing it as a transformative movement for tribal empowerment. They also presented cultural performances showcasing the rich tribal heritage, and staged a skit highlighting challenges in education, particularly the absence of a nearby secondary school, which they cited as a major cause of dropouts.

Locals raised several demands before the DC, including better internet connectivity, electricity supply, drinking water facilities, and inclusion of Chandaji on the tourist map, given its natural beauty and tourism potential.

In her address, DC praised the talent of school children and lauded the efforts of school management. She directed the Chief Education Officer to prepare a plan for providing pick-and-drop facilities to middle-pass students so they can pursue secondary education without interruption. She further assured that network, electricity, and other civic issues would be taken up for early resolution.

DC also highlighted government initiatives like Mission YUVA and Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), encouraging youth to start businesses and become self-reliant. She directed the Assistant Labour Commissioner to organize a Labour Card Saturation Camp in Chandaji next week.

Notably, in a significant step towards strengthening grassroots governance under the Aadi Karamyogi Abhiyan and Seva Prav 2025, Seva Kendras have been inaugurated in all 31 villages across six blocks of Bandipora. These Kendras serve as single-window platforms to provide easy access to government services and welfare schemes, while also acting as hubs for grievance redressal, information dissemination, and participatory governance. Their operationalisation marks a decisive move towards responsive and inclusive service delivery in the district.

Meanwhile, as part of the campaign under Sewa Parv 2025, awareness programs were simultaneously organized across the district. ADC Bandipora attended an event at Panchayat Ghar Aragam, ACR Bandipora visited Panchayat Ghar Chattibandi, and the Chief Planning Officer joined a program at High School Kudara.

Officers at these locations highlighted the role of education, livelihood, health, and self-employment in achieving sustainable progress, while urging villagers to actively participate in government schemes.
