ANANTNAG: Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo, visited Anantnag today and chaired a comprehensive meeting with the concerned officers at Dak Bangalow Khanabal to review the overall developmental scenario of the district along with the implementation of various government schemes and welfare initiatives.

Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, SF Hamid, Principal, GMC Anantnag; ADCs; DPO; GM, DIC; ACR; ACD; SDMs, and other district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner presented an overview of the overall developmental landscape and welfare schemes besides the progress on deliverables and key initiatives like Mission Yuva, NMBA, TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, HADP, PMSGMBY, and JK Samadhan, among others, of the district. He briefed the chair about the status of beneficiary schemes in different departments, along with the progress of ongoing infrastructural projects in Health, Education, RDD, R&B, PHE, Power, and other key sectors.

Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary instructed the officers to ensure effective implementation and saturation of various Central and UT-sponsored schemes, especially in Health, Education, Social Welfare, Horticulture, and Agriculture, adding that their time-bound execution is vital for extending essential benefits to the people. He noted that schemes and programmes such as PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna, PM Vishwakarma, Mission Yuva, and HADP are beneficial, and that the concerned departments should strive to extend their benefits to the citizens.

While reviewing the health and education sectors, the Chief Secretary remarked that appreciable progress has been made in building infrastructure; however, the quality of education and health care must be prioritised to achieve further improvement in these key sectors.

The Chief Secretary impressed upon the concerned officers to ensure effective implementation of self-employment schemes, adding that banks should ease the credit lending process in order to generate meaningful livelihoods for youth.

Recognising the potential of the district in agriculture and allied sectors, the Chief Secretary stressed that the concerned departments shall ensure enhanced productivity and the establishment of profitable and sustainable units across the district to generate sustainable livelihood for the youth here.
