Power shutdowns announced by KPDCL and JKPTCL

Srinagar: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) and the Jammu and Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL) have announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns in different districts to facilitate branch cutting, preventive maintenance, and ongoing works under RDSS.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, shutdown of several 33KV lines will be observed on different dates:

September 27, 2025: Rawalpora–Bagh-i-Mehtab line – Receiving Station Bagh-i-Mehtab will remain off, affecting Bagh-i-Mehtab, Gopalpora, Kralpora, Mochwa and adjoining areas (10:00 AM to 04:00 PM). Rawalpora–Chanapora line – Receiving Stations at Chanapora and Bone & Joint will remain off, affecting Lalnagar, Chanapora, Methan, Nowgam, Natipora, Budshah Nagar and adjoining areas (10:00 AM to 04:00 PM).

September 29, 2025: Rawalpora–Rangreth line – Receiving Stations at Rangreth, Wanbal, JAKLI, Beacon, SIDCO Complex, and Doodhganga will remain off, affecting Rangreth, Wanbal, Kralpora, Gogo, Yayil and adjoining areas (10:00 AM to 04:00 PM). Rawalpora–Air Force line – Receiving Stations at Peerbagh, Humhama, STC BSF, and Air Force will remain off, affecting Peerbagh, Humhama Heights, Sheikhpora, Friends Colony, Hyderpora and adjoining areas (10:00 AM to 04:00 PM). Budgam–SIDCO Tap line – Receiving Station SIDCO will remain off, affecting Sheikhpora, Ompora, Bhathara, Housing Colony, Mohanpora, Khanpora, Zorigund, Wadipora, SIDCO and adjoining areas (09:00 AM to 03:00 PM).

October 5–8, 2025: October 5 – GIS Tengpora Grid-Exhibition (Tapline) Cargo line; Receiving Stations at Exhibition, Batamaloo will remain off, affecting HSHS Market, PCR, Batamaloo, Firdousabad and adjoining areas (10:00 AM to 04:00 PM). October 6 – Rawalpora–Silk Factory and GIS Tengpora Grid–Narkara lines; Receiving Stations at Silk Factory, Narkara, and Gangbugh will remain off, affecting Allochibagh, Rambagh, Cargo, Tulsibagh, Narkara, Galwanpora, Gangbugh, Shah Anwar Colony, West End Colony, Gulbahar Colony and adjoining areas (10:00 AM to 04:00 PM).

October 7 – GIS Tengpora (Tapline) Allochibagh Bund portion and GIS Tengpora KP Bagh lines; Receiving Stations at KP Bagh and Jawahar Nagar will remain off, affecting Allochibagh, Bulbulbagh, Jawahar Nagar, Mehjoor Nagar, Soiteng, KP Bagh and adjoining areas (10:00 AM to 04:00 PM).

October 8 – TRC Rajbagh line/ KP Bagh–Rajbagh line; Receiving Station Rajbagh will remain off, affecting Rajbagh, Kursoo, Gogjibagh and adjoining areas (10:00 AM to 04:00 PM).

October 12, 2025: Bemina–Exhibition line – Receiving Stations at Court Complex, GIS Batamaloo, and Tengpora Station will remain off, affecting Hamdania Colony, Nundresh Colony, Batamaloo, Moominabad, Batamaloo Market and adjoining areas (10:00 AM to 04:00 PM). Bemina–KP Bagh line – Receiving Station Rakhiarth will remain off, affecting Rakh-i-Arth, Hamdania Colony and adjoining areas (10:00 AM to 04:00 PM).

Meanwhile, the Chief Engineer, JKPTCL Kashmir, has also announced shutdowns for routine and preventive maintenance works:

September 27, 2025: Receiving Stations at Ashajipora, Janglatmandi, Brakpora, Malaknag, Dialgam, Mirbazar, Quimoh, Redwani, Harnag, Naibasti, Sarnal, Anchidora, Akura, Vessu, Qazigund, Chowgam, Kund, and Railway will remain off, affecting the respective areas from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM.

September 30, 2025: Receiving Stations at Kokernag, Dandipora, Hiller, Arkhahsipora, Hillar Toll Post, Dooru, Verigund, Shankerpora, and Chowgund will remain off, affecting the respective areas from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM.

Both KPDCL and JKPTCL have appealed to consumers to bear with the inconvenience caused due to these scheduled shutdowns, which are necessary for maintenance and strengthening of the power supply network.
