“If there is a terrorist attack on India in the future, it will be seen as an act of war and a fitting reply will be given. India has also made it clear that it will not tolerate any nuclear blackmail and it will strike precisely and decisively at the terrorist hideouts,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

Talking about development of border areas in J&K UT, the Lieutenant Governor said that Prime Minister gave a vision of treating villages of forward areas as the “first village” not the “last village”. He said the change in terminology emphasized their importance as the nation’s first line of defence and our priority on the comprehensive development of border villages.

“We adopted a strategic approach to a balance economic growth, security and socio-cultural integration while developing border areas here in Jammu Kashmir. We built robust connectivity to facilitate trade and tourism. Many areas deprived of electricity since 1947 were connected with grid power and internet which significantly improved quality of life,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

The Lieutenant Governor said India’s ancient Mantra and motto of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam- the world is one family” will show the way to universal brotherhood and global unity.
