HARYANA: Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Surinder Kumar Choudhary, today attended the 112th Birth anniversary celebrations of Late Jannayak Choudhary Devi Lal, former Deputy Prime Minister of India and the founding figure of the state of Haryana.

The occasion, observed as “Samman Divas”, was held at New Anaj Mandi, Rohtak.

Addressing the large gathering, the Deputy Chief Minister remarked that the day holds historical significance and urged everyone to follow the path and principles laid down by Choudhary Devi Lal, who dedicated his life to the welfare of farmers and the common people.

He said that Choudhary Devi Lal always stood with farmers, daily wagers, shopkeepers, government employees and the general public.

During his tenure, he initiated impactful welfare schemes such as old age pensions, farm loan waivers, and tax relief for small traders, the Dy CM reminded.

He also paid tribute to Ch. Om Prakash Chautala, former Chief Minister of Haryana, acknowledged his contributions in carrying forward the vision of Choudhary Devi Lal.

“Om Prakash Chautala was truly the Iron Man of Haryana. His leadership and dedication led to remarkable development in the state, completing many of the initiatives envisioned by Choudhary Devi Lal,” he stated.
