Sewa Parv 2025: Horticulture Deptt Anantnag holds awareness, CBP, machinery show

ANANTNAG: As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv 2025 celebrations, the Horticulture department, Anantnag, today organised an awareness-cum-capacity building programme (CBP) and Machinery Show at Kokernag.

The programme aimed to educate orchardists to adopt modern and scientific horticulture practices to enhance productivity, improve fruit quality, and maintain orchard health throughout the seasons.

Experts from the department provided detailed demonstrations and practical advice to farmers.

Speaking on the occasion, SDM Kokernag, Prince Kumar, who was the chief guest, said that Sewa Parv provides an important platform for farmers and common people to directly engage with government officers, share their concerns, and receive first-hand knowledge about welfare schemes.

Subject Matter Specialist, Horticulture Development Anantnag highlighted the department’s flagship schemes and their benefits, urging orchardists to avail the facilities under various government programmes.

Earlier, HDO Kokernag gave a detailed overview of the achievements and ongoing initiatives of the Horticulture Zone Kokernag.

During the event, orchardists actively interacted with officials, shared their challenges, and received responses from the experts.

Later, SDM Kokernag distributed farm machinery among the eligible beneficiaries of the zone Kokernag in the presence of other officers.

Tehsildar Kokernag, HDO Brakpora, other officers of the department, and a number of orchardists and stakeholders also attended the program.
