ANANTNAG: The IRP 10th Battalion organized a quiz competition under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) at its Battalion Headquarters in Kheribal Mattan, Anantnag.
On the occasion, Rajinder Katoch, Commandant IRP 10th Battalion, along with Imtiyaz Ahmad, SP (Dy. CO), and other officers were present.
Addressing the students and teaching staff, Commandant Katoch said the event was part of the ongoing efforts of J&K Police to strengthen police-public relations. He urged students and staff to refrain from drug abuse and other harmful practices and to focus on education for building a bright future.
A total of six teams, with five students each from six schools of Mattan Zone—namely GHS Kheribal, GHS Nambal, GHS Fohar, GHSS Mattan, GHSS Akad, and GHS Gopalpora—participated in the competition.
In the results, GHSS Mattan secured 1st position and received a cash prize of ₹5,000. GHS Fohar bagged the 2nd position with a cash prize of ₹3,000, while GHS Gopalpora stood 3rd with a cash prize of ₹1,500. Stationery kits and medals were also distributed among all 30 participants.
Appreciation-cum-participation certificates were presented to all participants and teaching staff as a token of acknowledgement.
The initiative aimed to encourage students to actively participate in such competitions, enhance their general knowledge, and stay away from drugs and other anti-social activities.
