SRINAGAR: The Leader of Opposition in J&K Legislative Assembly, Sunil Sharma, and a delegation of Nigeen Lake Conservation Organization (NLCO) led by its Chairman Manzoor Wangnoo, today called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and discussed a range of issues concerning the people and environment of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sunil Sharma apprised the Lieutenant Governor on matters related to road connectivity, delivery of essential and health services across the Union Territory—particularly in areas cut off due to landslides and floods. He also highlighted the need for urgent restoration of power and water supply in flood-hit and hilly regions, sought enhanced financial support for affected families, and requested postponement of competitive examinations, including the JKPSC Lecturer recruitment and Munsiff examinations.
The NLCO delegation, on the other hand, raised important concerns related to lake and waterbody conservation and shared their recommendations for effective protection and management of the fragile ecosystem of Nigeen and Dal Lakes.
The Lieutenant Governor assured both Shri Sunil Sharma and the NLCO delegation that the issues and suggestions put forth would be taken up on priority for timely resolution.
