SRINAGAR: Leader of Opposition (LoP) Sunil Sharma has written to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, seeking postponement of the upcoming Munsiff and 10+2 Lecturer examinations scheduled by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC).
In his letter, Sharma flagged the serious difficulties being faced by aspirants across the Union Territory due to recent natural disruptions. He noted that frequent landslides, cloudbursts, and road blockages have left several areas cut off, making it nearly impossible for students to travel to designated exam centres.
Highlighting another challenge, the LOP pointed to poor internet services in many regions, which he said are preventing candidates from downloading admit cards and accessing study material. The prevailing digital divide, coupled with adverse weather conditions, he stressed, has placed aspirants from remote and flood-affected areas at a severe disadvantage compared to others.
Expressing concern for the student community, Sharma urged the Lieutenant Governor to intervene and direct the JKPSC to postpone the examinations until the situation stabilises, ensuring that all aspirants are given a fair and equal opportunity to appear.
