IRP-6th Battalion organizes Civic Action Programme in Srinagar Schools

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police’s IRP-6th Battalion on Tuesday organized a series of events under its Civic Action Programme 2025–26 at three schools in Srinagar, aimed at strengthening community engagement and promoting education among students.

The events were held at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Natipora, Government Girls Middle School Amira Kadal, and Government Boys Middle School Lachmanpora, Batamaloo. Educational kits, water purifiers, and refreshments were distributed among students as part of the initiative.

The programmes also featured interactive sessions between students, teachers, and police officers, focusing on education, youth empowerment, and the role of young people in nation-building. Students presented cultural performances, while participants highlighted the urgent need to combat the menace of drug abuse in society.

Commanding Officer IRP-6th Battalion, Abdul Hakim Munshi, in his address, underlined the significance of Civic Action Programmes conducted by J&K Police. He emphasized education as a transformative tool to shape the future of the nation and urged students to actively contribute as responsible citizens.

Principals of the participating schools appreciated the efforts of J&K Police and called for more such initiatives in the future, particularly programmes focused on drug de-addiction and youth awareness.

The events were attended by senior police officials including SSP Safdar Hamid Hassan Samoon, DyCO Rayaz Iqbal Tantray (SP Adjutant), DySP Showkat Ahmad (Quarter Master), DySP Zahoor Ahmad, Inspector Fida Hussain, Inspector Khalid Mehmood, Woman Inspector Arjamand Ayoub, and other officers of the IRP-6th Battalion.
